Key findings
This report reflects the work of the Greek Ombudsman in 2014, as the body responsible for promoting the principle of equal treatment regardless of racial or ethnic origin, religion or faith, disability, age or sexual orientation, according to its competence based on Law 3304/2005. It found that various divisions of the Hellenic Police started investigating racist attack incidents based on the Ombudsman's special report which is a positive step. The Hellenic Police also finally launched internal investigations.

The data collected is based on the complaints the Ombudsman receiving, requesting it to intervene.
Sample details and representativeness
In 2014 it received overall 216 complaints on discrimination. 25 complaints the Ombudsman examined concerned discrimination on ethnic grounds and 29 on religious grounds. A table is included in the Greek version of the report.
